Macor has a continuous use temperature of 800°C, and a peak temperature of 1000°C. Its coefficient of thermal expansion matches most metals and sealing glasses, meaning it can perform in harsh operating environments where precision is a necessity. It can also be machined in intricate shapes and precision parts. With no post firing required after machining. Macor is clean, offering zero porosity and no out gassing.

Macor is a unique and flexible material that boasts the performance of a technical ceramic, whilst retaining the versatility of a high-performance polymer and the machinability of a soft metal. Macor remains stable at high temperatures and pressure; it can very quickly be designed into complex parts using conventional metalworking tools.
